Trip Highlights
Day 1: Tbilisi – Street photography tour
- Start the day early with a sunrise shoot at the Dry Bridge Flea Market. This market is a unique place to capture Tbilisi's vintage culture and architecture. You can find a variety of antique objects, old cameras, Soviet memorabilia, and other interesting items. It's also a great opportunity to photograph the vendors and shoppers and their interactions.
- Afterward, head to Fabrika, a creative hub in the heart of Tbilisi's hipster district. This area is known for its street art, cafes, and bohemian atmosphere, which provide ample opportunities for street photography. Capture the colorful graffiti, unique architecture, and people enjoying their coffee or brunch.
- For lunch, stop by Shavi Lomi, a trendy restaurant near Rustaveli Avenue. This restaurant offers a mix of traditional and modern Georgian cuisine, with dishes such as khinkali (dumplings), khachapuri (cheese bread), and grilled meats. The decor is also interesting and provides opportunities for some interior photography.
- After lunch, explore Rustaveli Avenue, one of Tbilisi's main streets. This boulevard is lined with historic buildings, theaters, and museums, and is a great place to capture the city's urban vibe. Look for interesting architecture, public sculptures, and street performers to photograph.
- Next, visit Abanotubani, Tbilisi's famous sulfur bath district. This area is full of history and character, with its distinctive domed rooftops and cobblestone streets. You can photograph the bathhouses, the people enjoying the baths, and the street vendors selling souvenirs and traditional Georgian snacks.
- Then go to Narikala Fortress, overlooking the city. This ancient fortress provides a panoramic view of Tbilisi's skyline, with the river and bridges in the foreground. It's a great place to capture the city lights at sunset and into the evening. You can also photograph the fortress itself, as well as the people enjoying the view.
- Finish the day with dinner at 8000 Vintages, located in the same area. This wine bar and restaurant offers a selection of Georgian wines and tapas-style dishes, in a cozy and stylish atmosphere. It's a great place to relax and enjoy the city's nightlife.
Day 2: Mtskheta – Culture and heritage photography tour
- Start the day early and drive to Mtskheta, an ancient city located about 20 minutes from Tbilisi. Mtskheta was the capital of Georgia until the 5th century and is considered one of the country's most important cultural and religious centers.
- Visit the Jvari Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site perched on a hill overlooking the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers. The monastery offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape and is a great place for landscape photography.
- Afterward, head to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, another UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important religious sites in Georgia. The cathedral's interior is adorned with beautiful frescoes and mosaics and is a great place for cultural and heritage photography.
- For lunch, stop by one of the local restaurants in Mtskheta, such as Taverna Samikitno . These restaurant offer a variety of traditional Georgian dishes, such as khinkali, khachapuri, and grilled meats.
- After lunch spend some time exploring the streets of Mtskheta and capturing the town's unique character and architecture. Look for interesting buildings, street art, and people to photograph
- In the afternoon, drive to Kazbegi, a mountainous region located about 3 hours from Mtskheta. The drive itself offers stunning views of the Georgian landscape, including the Jvari Pass and the Zhinvali Reservoir.
- Check in to your hotel in Kazbegi and enjoy dinner at your hotel or one of the local restaurants in town
Day 3: Kazbegi – Landscapes and nature photography tour
- Start the day early and visit the Gergeti Trinity Church, a 14th-century monastery located on top of a hill overlooking the village of Kazbegi and the surrounding mountains. The monastery's location offers breathtaking views of the Caucasus Mountains and is a great place for landscape and nature photography.
- After visiting the church, explore the surrounding area and take in the beautiful landscape of the Kazbegi region. The area is known for its stunning mountains, waterfalls, and rivers, making it a great place for landscape photography.
- For lunch, stop by one of the local restaurants in Kazbegi, such as Kazbegi Hut or Rooms Hotel Kazbegi.
- In the afternoon, visit the Dariali Gorge, located about 15 minutes from Kazbegi. The gorge is home to the Tergi River and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and landscape, making it a great place for landscape photography.
- In the afternoon, drive to Kachreti Villa, located in the heart of the Kakheti wine region, about 2.5 hours from Kazbegi. The villa offers stunning views of the Alazani Valley and is surrounded by beautiful vineyards, making it a great place for landscape photography.
- Check in to your villa and enjoy dinner at the Kachreti Ambassador restaurant, which serves traditional Georgian cuisine paired with locally-produced wines.
Day 4: Kakheti – Portraits and faces photography tour
- Start your day at Kachreti Villa, capturing stunning portraits amidst the beautiful gardens and elegant interiors, discovering the villa's enchanting interiors and lush gardens, seeking out the perfect settings and lighting to capture stunning portraits.
- After Kachreti we venture into the neighboring local villages, where the genuine warmth and hospitality of the Kakhetian people await us. Immerse yourself in their daily lives, interacting with locals and capturing their stories through captivating portraits.
- Indulge in traditional Georgian cuisine during our lunch break, savoring mouthwatering dishes such as khachapuri (cheese-filled bread), khinkali (dumplings), and pkhali (vegetable pĂ¢tĂ©).
- After lunch Head to Bodbe, a village famous for its monastery and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. You can capture portraits of the locals and monks in traditional Georgian clothing, as well as the stunning architecture of the monastery.
- Drive to the charming town of Sighnaghi, also known as the "City of Love," and take portraits of couples and families in the cobblestone streets and alleyways. The town offers stunning views of the Alazani Valley and the Caucasus Mountains.
- Capture the golden hour light as it bathes the town of Sighnaghi, providing a magical ambiance for portraits. The town's narrow streets and panoramic views of the Alazani Valley offer fantastic photo opportunities.
- Return to Kachreti Villa for dinner at the hotel restaurant.
Day 5: Kakheti – Model photography tour
- Begin your day at Kachreti Villa, where you will meet with professional models and a team of stylists and makeup artists who will help bring your vision to life.
- Depart from Kachreti Villa and head to Telavi, the historical capital of Kakheti. Explore the town's charming streets, capturing the models against the backdrop of traditional Georgian architecture and local landmarks.
- Visit the beautifully restored Batonis Tsikhe (House of the Prince) museum, a striking fortress with picturesque courtyards and towers. Utilize the museum's unique features as a backdrop for your model photo shoot, highlighting the fusion of history and beauty.
- Journey to Tsinandali, a village renowned for its winemaking heritage and the Tsinandali Estate. Explore the estate's manicured gardens, vineyards, and opulent interiors, using these luxurious settings to create elegant and sophisticated images of the models.
- Take a break for lunch at the Tsinandali Estate's restaurant, indulging in a delightful feast of Georgian cuisine. Sample dishes such as khinkali (dumplings), badrijani nigvzit (eggplant rolls), and kharcho (spicy beef soup), paired with fine local wines from the estate's cellar.
- Continue the model shooting day tour at Lopota Lake Resort, located in a picturesque valley surrounded by rolling hills. Utilize the resort's stunning natural scenery, including the tranquil lake, lush forests, and mountain views, to capture breathtaking images of the models in this idyllic setting.
- As the sun begins to set, take advantage of the golden hour light, creating enchanting and ethereal portraits that reflect the beauty and serenity of Lopota Lake Resort.
- Return to Kachreti Villa for the final leg of the tour. Capture the warm evening light as it illuminates the vineyards and the tranquil atmosphere of the surroundings.
- Have a farewell dinner at Kachreti Villa's restaurant, savoring traditional Georgian delicacies like khachapuri and mtsvadi (grilled meat skewers) while toasting to the memories of the tour.
